Saad was born in the United Arab Emirates and lived in several countries in East and South-East Asia before coming to Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the London School of Economics and recently completed his certificate in Creative Writing from the School of Continuing Studies (University of Toronto) where he was a finalist for the Random House Creative Writing Award (2010 and 2011) and was a finalist for the Marina Nemat Award (2012) for his novel excerpt Drinking the Ocean.
Saad published his story, “Under Frozen Soil”, in Descant Magazine (Fall 2013). He is seeking publication for his first novel and is currently writing his second.He is also an amateur travel/street photographer and has sold some of his photos in past exhibitions of his work.
